There are many ways to make the picot stitch, here is the steps I do for “The little fairies”.
You can find “The little fairies” pattern from here.
Step 1. chain three based on your currently working stitch.
Step 2. Insert your hook into back of the currently working stitch (highlighted in red) and you will have 3 loops on hook.
Step 3. Yarn over and pull the yarn through 3 loops on hook. You finish a picot stitch.
